Funeral & Sympathy Flowers in Thailand: Customs and Etiquette

In Thai culture, flowers play a meaningful role in funeral and sympathy rituals. Understanding the proper etiquette ensures your gesture is respectful and appreciated.

Traditional sympathy flowers in Thailand are white and green. White symbolizes purity, peace, and mourning. Dark or brightly colored flowers are generally avoided for funeral arrangements.

Common sympathy flowers include: - White lilies — represent restored innocence and peace - White roses — symbolize respect and remembrance - Orchids (white or lavender) — represent eternal love - Eucalyptus and ferns — add greenery and fragrance

Arrangements are typically standing wreaths (พวงหรีด), sprays, or vase arrangements. Standing wreaths are the most traditional and are placed at the funeral temple.

When sending sympathy flowers in Phuket, we can arrange delivery directly to the temple or funeral venue. Same-day delivery is available for orders before 3 PM.

If you're unsure what to send, tell us your budget and we'll help you choose an appropriate arrangement. Delivery near our shop is free — for further areas, we calculate by distance.
